Celebrate Special Moments at Hampton Children’s Playhouse

The Hampton Children’s Playhouse is the perfect Bayside location for children’s birthday parties and other memorable occasions. You can enjoy exclusive use of our entire facility on Sundays throughout the year. Our welcoming space offers all the amenities you need to create unforgettable moments for your child and their guests.

What's Included:

  • Fully Equipped Kitchen:

    Take advantage of our fully equipped kitchen, where you can prepare delicious meals and refreshments for your young guests. 

  • Facility Access:

    Enjoy access to the rest of our facilities, including our secure backyard playground, indoor play spaces, craft areas, and more.

  • Thorough Clean:

    Your booking fee of just $159 + a small administrative fee includes a thorough cleaning of toilets and surfaces, organised by the Playhouse. Please note that hirers are responsible for a general clean up before leaving.

Booking Details:

  • Duration:

    Bookings can run for up to 4 hours during the hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

  • MEMBERS ONLY:

    Booking is password-enabled and available for members only. Please refer to your welcome email for access details.

  • Availability:

    Parties are only available on Sundays. You can check our general availability using our Events Calendar. For real-time availability, please refer to our calendar at EventBrite.

  • TERMS:

Play equipment, swings and slides. Outdoor trikes, bikes and vehicles.

BRING YOUR entertainment

Book your preferred entertainers. We’ve had fairies, balloon twisters, animal encounters and science parties to name a few.

Indoors and an undercover verandah are available for anything Melbourne weather throws at us!

 

Booking Conditions

Who Can Hire the Playhouse?

Members can book the Playhouse to celebrate their pre-school aged child's birthday. Older siblings and school-aged friends are welcome to attend as guests.

How to Apply

  • Parties can be booked here. The password to access the booking page can be found in your welcome email.

  • Members must follow all rules.

  • The Playhouse may decline a booking if needed.

Cancellations

  • Cancel 7+ days before your booking = full refund (minus the Eventbrite admin fee).

  • Cancel less than 7 days = no refund.

Insurance & Liability

  • Your party is covered by the Playhouse’s public liability insurance.

  • You book and use the space at your own risk.

  • You’re responsible for any damage, injury, or issues that happen during your hire, unless it’s caused by the Playhouse or Council.

Member Responsibilities

  1. Parties must be for your pre-school aged child only (unless otherwise approved by the Committee)

  2. You must be present for the entire party

  3. Follow all Playhouse rules (e.g. nut-free policy)

  4. No alcohol allowed

  5. No smoking (you’ll be fined if the fire alarm goes off)

  6. You can bring your own caterers or entertainers – but you're responsible for them

  7. You can use kitchen crockery, cutlery, and the Nespresso machine

  8. No loud music or sound systems that can be heard outside

  9. Keep noise to a minimum – please be respectful of our neighbours

  10. Follow all relevant Victorian laws and safety rules

Signage

  • No signs on public areas (unless approved by Council)

  • Don’t use nails, screws, or tape that may damage the building

  • You’ll be billed for any damage or repairs

Termination of Hire

Your party may be stopped if a Council or Playhouse rep finds rules aren’t being followed after a verbal warning.

Cleaning & Pack Up

A professional clean is included, but please leave the Playhouse tidy. Here's what you need to do:

  • Clean up all food, rubbish, and piñata bits

  • Remove all decorations

  • Put away toys and return furniture to original places

  • Take all rubbish (including nappies & bottles) with you (or place in outside bins)

  • Empty the fridge & wash up any used dishes

  • Sweep outdoor areas and pack up outside toys

  • Cover the sandpit and lock all sheds

  • Turn off lights, heating/cooling

  • Lock all doors & windows

  • Tell us if anything was broken or someone got hurt

Note: You are responsible for making sure your caterers and entertainers follow these rules too.
